Our Mission Statement:

THE LABORATORY THEATER OF FLORIDA is dedicated to the promotion of the performing arts, through live performance, education, community outreach, experimentation and the development of ensemble work. 
 

Leadership:


 

Annette Trossbach – President

Classically trained at East 15 Drama School in London, U.K.  Having worked with the likes of Margaret Walker (Oh What a Lovely War), Mike Loades, Alasdair Ramsey, and Tony Scannell at the innovative East 15, Annette embraces and  continues the vision of the founders of that school: to teach theatrical skills to anyone who is interested in learning.She and her company enjoy taking people off of the street and giving lessons in character development, stagecraft, combat, textual analysis, voice  and physicality so that these new actors can produce in a show. 

 

She is now the artistic director of The Laboratory Theater of Florida and the

Gulf Coast Shakespeare Festival

.

Annette Trossbach, playwright and drama teacher at Edison Park Elementary School for the Creative and Expressive Arts in Lee County, has been named a Gulfshore Business "40 Under 40" leader who has distinguished herself within the community.  In addition to heading the acclaimed Laboratory Theater, Trossbach teaches Shakespeare to students and the community, and was recognized for her efforts in teaching and promoting the arts. Louise Wigglesworth – Vice President / Director of Education

Actor, director, playwright and theater educator, worked for three decades in theater arts education, developing curriculum for and teaching in high school and college theater programs. An award-winning playwright, Louise’s full length plays have received many readings and productions and won awards in competitions. Louise’s objective in Lab Theater’s education program is to provide audiences with resources, in terms of materials, speakers and workshops, which expand the themes and issues in the plays produced.  

   

 

Randy Kashi – Director Publicity and Marketing

Randy grew up outside Washington, DC. in Bethesda, Maryland. Graduated college in 1978 with a BFA from Syracuse University, in Advertising Design. Worked in ad agencies and as a freelance designer in DC and Fort Myers. Helped found a non-profit after 9-11 and the Mid-East intafada, that supplies groceries to impoverished Israeli families, which won a national award in 2007. Was President of a 300 family synagogue for 2 years. Worked as assistant to the director of the Sidney & Berne Davis Art Center in downtown Fort Myers, and am presently the PR/Marketing Director for The Laboratory Theater of Florida as well as the assistant to the director. Was nominated 2 consecutive years for the Alliance of the Arts Angel of the Arts Award for Arts Volunteer of the Year.
